Many, if not most, first–time buyers approach the bank or building society which they hold their current account with when applying for a mortgage. If they get an offer that they can afford, on the property that they wish, that is as much benchmarking/research that they undertake.

This means that most first–time buyers are unaware of if better deals or offers would be available to them. The other side of the coin is that most of the new mortgage enquiries that walk into or phone our office have been elsewhere, meaning we are not often the first ‘port of call’ for people who make an application for a mortgage.

Therefore, we often get people who have had difficulty with other lenders – over the past 40 years that we have been securing mortgages for our clients, we have developed a level of expertise for the more bespoke or out–of–the–ordinary mortgage cases. If you, or anybody you know would like to check if the mortgage offer they have already received is competitive just get in touch with us. We can tell very quickly whether there are more competitive deals about and make an application if that is what is required.
