Four tips to help you protect your pension from scammers.

Four tips to help you protect your pension from scammers.

The UK government says that between January 2015 and December 2019 there were over 3,000 reports of pension fraud to Action Fraud, and that this number is unrepresentative of the true scale of the problem as many do not realise that their pensions have been scammed until they retire.

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has released four top tips to help you avoid scammers;

1.      Reject unexpected offers.

2.      Check who you are dealing with (you can check a firm’s credentials by entering their FCA number on the FCA website; https://www.fca.org.uk/firms/financial-services-register).

3.      Do not be rushed or pressured.

4.      Get impartial information and advice.
