GP Shortages

Some GPs warn that accessing them could potentially get as difficult as seeing an NHS dentist, this may result in people having to either be sick and have little access to healthcare besides going directly to hospital or going private, neither of which is ideal.

It is important to note, that this comes from Northern Ireland which has the second highest number of GPs per 100,000 people. In Northern Ireland 18 practices have handed back their contracts, while a further 100 are in rescue operations. However, some places in England have it much worse.

Some GPs have resorted to a hybrid model, where they take on additional private patients while also covering some NHS patients.
